This is our Museum and Visitors' Center. In July of '09 Norm Sayler bought the small building on the corner of Old 40 and Donner Pass Rd. attached to the old Soda Springs Hotel which was built in 1927.

Half of the building is the historical society's and acts as a small museum and visitors' center. People come in for information, to look our extensive collection of old photographs, buy books and pick up maps/brochures, ask questions, and get acquainted with the community. You can see our Opening Day Celebration here.

Pictured here are DSHS volunteers cleaning it up and painting. Left is the founding Board. Norm Sayler is up top. Below left to right: David Africa, Bill Oudegeest, Jim Hoelter, and Margie Powell. Starr Walton was there but skipped the picture fun.

Above,  Norm Sayler is still on the roof and from left: David Africa, David Greenberg, Margie Powell, Beverly Lewis (also a founding Board member), Jim Hoelter.  Bottom right, it's lunch break time. Center Middle David Africa.  Top:  David Greenberg and Jim Hoelter.
