Norm Sayler’s incomparable collection of historical photographs, and artifacts, forms the nucleus of the Donner Summit Historical Society’s collections.  In 2020 we finally finished digitizing and annotating the images of Donner Summit and George Lamson built a searchable data base as an archive.  Several thousand pictures were also uploaded to Flickr for public access and simple searches.  More will be added as time goes by because Norm is an inveterate collector.

You can also come by the DSHS at the blinking light in “downtown” Soda Springs to access pictures on a computer.

Below you see, left to right, Norm Sayler, Starr Walton Hurley, and Ron Grove. Norm is telling Ron, one of our volunteers, stories that annotate the photographs. Then the information goes to George Lamson, another volunteer, for inclusion in the database and uploding to Flickr. Starr is kibbutzing.
