history stories, etc. page. The deed below left is to Fitz William Redding Sr. giving him most of what is now Serene Lakes after his son, Fitz William Jr. and the first settler, died. The receipt below right shows Sr. paid $2.50 an acre to the U.S. Government in 1869 a coupe of years after his son died.
