Alfred A Hart 97 - Rattlesnake Mountain - Now known as Red Mountain and Signal Peak. The Emigrant Trail, the Dutch Flat Wagon Road and Old Highway 40 all passed near here. There are a few remnants of each to be found, but I-80 required lots of space, so the valley was molded to make it fit. The cascades in the foreground are gone, and the river was moved to flow between the east and west-bound lanes. Hart must have really liked the cascades, and he photographed them from several viewpoints.
