In 1901 some unknown cyclissts bicycled from Sacramento to Donner Lake for a little vacation. While in the Sierra they visited a number of places, one of which was Warren Lake, near Castle Pk. They probably did not bicycle to the lake. You can see other pictures from their album at this link
