This is an interesting spot along the Judah Loop Trail. Look at the picture here of the lady on the rocks about 1910 (judging from her dress). Note how open the forest was in the early 20th Century. Emigrant Wagons traveled through the forests with no trouble. Look at the forest around you. Today wagons could not travel over Donne Summit. While you're here walk off the PCT towards Castle Pk (the big peak to the north). There are some nice spots to sit and contemplate beautiful scenery.
